Travel Nursing Education Requirements
To become a travel nurse, you must be a licensed practical nurse or a registered nurse. It is required that you have either a certificate or diploma in practical nursing. Those who have an associate s or bachelor s degree in nursing can have even better luck finding a position as a travel nurse. All states require that you be certified by passing the National Council Licensure Examination. There is an opportunity to acquire a voluntary certification as well. Beyond the education requirements, a travel nurse should be able to work well with a myriad of different people, as frequent travel will place the nurse in different situations that may be outside of his or her comfort zone. A travel nurse should know how to work well with others and communicate efficiently.
