UNC Charlotte offers a Fire Safety Engineering Technology degree program has emphasis on both technical and non technical aspects in the fields of fire and safety. The program is directed toward those seeking positions within the fire service as well as those preparing for work in fire protection related occupations.
In addition, the program provides comprehensive classes dealing with fire behavior, active and passive protection systems as well as the foundational principles of research investigation.

Caldwell Community College
Caldwell Community College now offers an ONLINE Associates Degree in Emergency Preparedness Technology.
The Emergency Preparedness Technology program prepares students with a foundation of technical and professional knowledge needed for emergency services delivery in local and state agencies. The course of study involves both management and technical aspects of law enforcement, fire protection, emergency medical services, and emergency management.
Coastal Carolina Community College
The Fire Protection Technology program is designed to provide individuals with technical and professional knowledge to make decisions regarding fire protection for both public and private sectors. It also provides a sound foundation for continuous higher learning in fire protection, administration, and management.
Coursework includes classroom and laboratory exercises to introduce the student to various aspects of fire protection. Students will learn technical and administrative skills such as hydraulics, hazardous materials, arson investigations, fire protection safety, fire suppression management, law and codes.
Graduates should qualify for employment or advancement in governmental agencies, industrial firms, insurance rating organizations, educational organizations, and municipal fire departments. Employed persons should have opportunities for skilled and supervisory-level positions within their current organizations.
Coastal Carolina Community College offers an Associate in Applied Science Degree, a Diploma, and five Certificates.
Forsyth Technical Community College
Forsyth Technical Community College offers an Associate Degree in Fire Protection Technologies. This program emphasis the knowledge and skills necessary to work and advance in the field of Fire Protection and prepares the student for further advancement within their chosen career field.
