He started his career in Technical College education 30 years ago as a Motor Mechanic lecturer. After completing his National Diploma Mechanical Engineering and National Teachers Diploma Technical, he was responsible for schools liaison and career guidance at the then Athlone Technical College.

In 1992, Neil lectured at Peninsula Technikon in the Faculty Mechanical Engineering for one quarter and thereafter he was appointed by the Department of Education as an Education Inspector/Subject Advisor for Technical Education at school level.

In 1995, he was appointed to the post of Senior Planner for Technical College Education with the Western Cape Education Department. During this time, Neil facilitated a Public-Private Partnership in the Southern Cape to establish an Industry Accredited Skill Training Centre.

In February 2001 he was appointed to act as the Rector of the then Wingfield Technical College and in February 2004, with the merger of Tygerberg, Wingfield, Protea and Bellville Colleges, he was assigned the portfolio of Human Resources and Administration at Northlink College.

Theresia (Trish) has 30 years experience in Education Training half of these spent in executive management in the technical college and TVET sector. She holds several degrees and diplomas from various institutions, including a M. Ed. (Policy Studies) cum laude from Stellenbosch University. Apart from keeping our scorecard, ensuring strategic Marketing and Communication and driving all international partnerships, Trish also initiated and implemented MOT (Norwegian life skills programme) and developed a Total Quality Management System (TQMS). She has served on various college councils, academic boards and external forums in the business and social arena. Her wide-ranging knowledge, experience and visits to international institutions serve as a benchmark for positioning Northlink College globally.

Deon van Rooyen

About Deon van Rooyen

Qualified as Chartered Accountant at PWC, where he worked for more than 10 years. Joined the Rembrandt Group in 1994 as part of business reconstruction. In 1996 formed his own consulting practice and joined an audit practice as the training/consulting partner of the practice.

During employment at PWC as an auditor and as a consultant, he had to ensure that various mutual funds under administration had proper Audit Risk Committees and adhered to the regulations applicable. Has also been part of the compliance teams regarding JSE Listings and the various dealings with the Registrar on behalf of large Medical Scheme and Insurance Administrators and corporates under Business Rescue. Involved as consultant in educational process development programs regarding finance as well as administration of businesses under business rescue.

Currently part of the TVET Financial Transformation Project as consultant for SAICA based at Northlink College as Deputy Principal: Finance.
